![]() It was about 50 years later, when the 1938 Stock was taken out of service. You’ll be spoilt to choose which version you want to drive - both are included in the 1938 Stock for Train Sim World 2! The black roof units also got the new, white tube logo - while the red roof version kept the unique golden “London Transport” logo on the side. The biggest difference was the black roof, which a few units received. In their 50 years of service, they experienced several smaller changes. Coupling an A and an A would have meant that if both were set forward, the two units would have pulled in different directions. It was important that the A and D were coupled together, because the engines in the D coach were mounted in the opposite direction, compared to the A coach. The trains mostly served as 4 car units, with an motorised A coach, followed by two non-driving middle coaches and a motorised D coach. That meant almost a third more space for the passengers - a significant advantage! The 1938 Stock was put into service in 1938 and had cutting edge technology by that time: The 38 Stock was the first tube train that had all the driving equipment mounted below the seats. Experience a true iconic, straight from the London Underground: The 1938 Heritage Tube Stock is coming soon to Train Sim World 2!
